Retake, Remake is a cutting-edge lip-synching fest co-created by the Ensemble, Artistic Director Jan Willem van den Bosch (Dickie Beau’s Black Outs & Remember Me), and Theatre Maker Mac Sproates (Gender not included). This innovative show sashays through a soundscape of songs, recorded voices, and snippets of films like Forrest Gump and I Am Sam.
The performance delves into blockbuster films that portray people with learning disabilities using actors without learning disabilities, offering a mix of fun and profoundly moving moments. Our talented actors challenge Hollywood’s star-defining practice, questioning and exploring these portrayals with humor and depth.
